  • Lab Notebook: The lab notebook must be filled out with title, reference, reaction, and amounts of reagents to be used prior to starting the lab exercise. During the lab, all data and observations should be written in the lab notebook.
  • Products: Products will be turned in for verification of yield and purity. Misreporting of results will result in a grade of zero for the lab.

  • Late Lab Policy:  Lab write-ups (in your notebook) are due, usually, 2 days following the lab. Late lab write-ups will be penalized, eventually to a point where you will receive no credit.

Missed Lab Policy: If you must miss a lab because of illness or emergency, contact the lab instructor as soon as possible to arrange a makeup. All absences must be verified with written documentation.  Labs must be made up within 5 calendar days of the lab you missed. Labs missed without a verified excuse, or labs not made up within 5 days, will receive a grade of zero.

Working Efficiently: It is expected that you will be in class or lab on time.  It is expected that you will work efficiently and be able to finish the experiment in a timely fashion.  If you find you are having difficulty organizing your time, please come talk to me and I will try to help you.
